This frantic butterfly paid a visit to the flower box on the deck last night, right before the three minute thunderstorm that finally broke the heatwave.
I have never seen a butterfly act like this -- it went from flower to flower, almost hummingbird-like, and I could see it 'drinking' -- very cool.
These flowers survived the winter (somehow) and reappeared rather too lavishly this year. I was going to transplant them into the yard...but now that the butterfly has visited....maybe not.
